Kristin was my doula for my first baby in 2009. If it wasn’t for her, I don’t think that I could have handled the labor as well.
Kristin is an amazing doula. She was always very professional with us and she was very dependable. She helped me to face the fears that I had about giving birth. She has a very calming and warm way about her that really helped me to remain calm and in control during my labor and delivery . She was committed to helping me achieve the natural birth that I wanted. I would highly recommend Kristin Lacy.
I never had the pleasure of Kristin assisting me in my birthing experience but I have learned so much from her. Kristin was my trainer in a breastfeeding peer counselor class that prepared me to become a breastfeeding peer counselor. I decided to take the class simple because I was curious of what it was all about. I figured, ” I breast fed three babies, I can help moms have a good breastfeeding experience.” But when I took the class, I tapped into a passion that I didn’t know existed. Kristin pulled this passion out of me and I thank her for that. She’s passionate about her work and it shines through her just talking to her. Kristin is warm, caring, and knowledgable which helped me realize that being a breastfeeding peer counselor was something that I was destined to do.
Kristin is a great doula and provided wonderful services! I thought she spent a lot of time with us before the birth, which made me feel comfortable and as though we were getting a lot of value for her fee. I had no concerns about whether she would be available for our birth – it was clear she manages her schedule well to ensure she is available. She made my husband feel included.
Kristen provided almost all of my prenatal care during my pregnancy. She was very professional and knowledgeable, while maintaining a caring, comfortable relationship with me and my husband. I felt very safe asking Kristin for advice when I was unsure, and for help and support when I needed it, especially as a first-time mother-to-be. When I went into labor, Kristen was there as soon as I needed her, and stayed through the night to help me through the contractions. When my home-birth plan became complicated and we had to transfer to the hospital, Kristen stayed by my side as our doula. I could not have sanely, safely successfully birthed my daughter without Kristen’s help, encouragement, and support.
Kristin came into my life when I thought I was stuck with a not so nice OB, she reassured me I wasn’t asking for too much (a quiet setting, dim lights, no one telling me to push, and my son being placed on my belly while the umbilical cord finished pulsing). She took me on at nearly 37 weeks!!! She also found me a Doula- who not only specializes in survivors (women who have been abused), but also does placenta encapsulation :-)! Her team was amazing, they gave me CDs- spinning babies, and even helped get my son in the right birthing position! Did I mention we bartered??Kristin is a must if you are looking for a good midwife! She will be the first phone call I make with ALL of my pregnancies!

Hello, here are some wonderful pictures of two children you prepared me for, Ajani (now 8) and Khamani (now 5). I am also sending you pictures of Anaya and Amari and Jabari because I would not have been able to do it without you. You are such an inspiration and I still remember the faces and stages of labor. Love you and God bless!

My family would like to publicly thank both Kristin and Wendy for allowing us to experience a wonderful and natural birth for our baby boy that we dreamed of. From the start of their prenatal care, through our delivery, and post natal check up for both the mother and baby, our experience was everything that we could have hoped for and more.
Both Kristin and Wendy extended themselves to encourage the mother with a comfortable and calm birthing experience. The care and hospitality that each of them shared during our work together far exceeded expense paid. Any mother who chooses to work with these two women as midwives, and as people, will find their experience reaching well beyond expectation. Thank You.

Kristin is an amazingly gentle soul who I had the pleasure of her attending my first-born’s home birth. She is so kind and talented. She is innovative of thought and technique as well!!! Don’t hesitate to make her a part of your birth process!!
I have had the pleasure if being a pupil of Kristin’s. She taught me so much and shared a wealth of knowledge with the whole class. I feel as though he gave me the confidence and counsel I needed to get through not just my classes to become a better community advocate but also knowledge as a mother to get me through my early motherhood. I would suggest Kristin to anyone I know needing her assistance! Wonderful spirit!

Kristin was great, such an amazing source of support and knowledge leading up to the birth of our twins. After they were born 7 weeks early, Kristin came to my home to help me as I tried to breast feed, she educated me on supplements and technique. I would highly recommend Kristin to any expectant mother.
I have known Kristin for a number of years now and during that time I have witnessed what a kind and caring individual she is. She is very dedicated to her profession and gives it her all.
When I have the opportunity she will be there for my child’s birth.
Kristin was part of our birth team for my first two girls. She was very knowledgeable, professional, and respected our wishes in the birth plan. Thank you Kristin, you were great!
Kristin was a fantastic doula. She was supportive, comforting and resourceful. When my husband and I needed her most, she was there. Hiring Kristin as my doula was the single best decision we made regarding the birth of our son, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for doula services.
Kristin is my accidental doula! She taught the birthing class that my husband and I attended, but never completed, our son came 6 weeks early. The day after we brought him home, we found out my husband’s cancer returned. To say that those early days were difficult would be putting it mildly. Kristin was there for me. She cried with me, prayed with me and taught me how to care for a premie. I don’t think I would have made it few those first few weeks without her! She is a wealth of knowledge from bathing your baby to how to eat to take care of yourself! I would recommend Kristin to anyone who is pregnant and considering a doula.
I trained as a breastfeeding peer counselor under Kristin and will be forever grateful for the experience. Kristin is extremely knowledgeable and resourceful. She was forthcoming about past professional and personal experiences in a manner which greatly benefited me and my development as a peer counselor. Additionally, I recommended Kristin as a doula to an acquaintance who recently delivered. The new mom expressed how appreciative she and her husband were of Kristin and how impressed she was with the level of service she received.
Kristin is a true professional that cares and researches family solutions that help to ensure an amazing birth experience!
I will begin by saying that my husband and I did a lot of research and took a lot of classes throughout our pregnancy to become as knowledgable and prepared as possible (as possible as it is when having a baby :-)). We attended 10 weeks of Bradley classes to prepare my husband to be my coach during pregnancy, labor and birth. Additionally, we decided we wanted a doula to help support our decisions and to offer support for my self and husband. We looked around and interviewed a couple and landed on Kristin. After we hired her I was happy to hear that many in the area (clients and medical practitioners) recommended her! My labor did not go exactly as planned, however, Kristin was there to support our decisions AND support my husband in continuing to be my coach, which was our intention. With my husband and Kristin by my side I didn’t even need the medical staff until time came to push! It was a great birth team :-). My husband and I highly recommend Kristin!”
Kristin was a God send to us. My husband and I wanted a homebirth and Kristin was the perfect match for us. We felt very comfortable in her presence, confident in her ability and knowledge, and able to voice any concerns we had throughout the pregnancy and during labor/ delivery. I am so very grateful for the wonderful experience because of her care.
We are so glad that Kristin supported us during the birth of our first child. Always in control, patient, calm and thoughtful about all the comfort measures for natural childbirth and everyone’s well-being. She played a major part in making it a special experience for us just as we had hoped it would. Especially as we are expatriates from Germany!! Thank you so much, Kristin!! Janine+Alex
My husband and I decided late in my pregnancy that we wanted to have a natural/unmedicated birth and decided that we would need a doula to help. We met with Kristin and right away we knew we met our doula!! Throughout the end of my pregnancy, Kristin was super helpful answering any questions I had and always responded quickly. Once I went into labor, Kristin was fantastic and seemed to intuitively know exactly what I needed from her to help me get through each contraction. She was seriously fantastic; my husband and I know that we could not have had such a wonderful birth experience without her. If/when we get pregnant again, the first call I’m making is to Kristin to make sure she is available to be our doula!
When I became pregnant with my second child, I wanted a different birthing experience than my first. The first time around had me questioning the professionals, why they did or didn’t do something. The more passionate I became about improving my birth experience the more I learned about Doula’s and Midwives, and Monitrice’s. Through my research I determined I wanted a Monitrice to be with me through my L&D based on their experience. I would have that person to lean on for advice, to know that I had a voice, and to provide tips and tricks to help my body along the way prepare for labor. A friend of mine in the industry mentioned Kristin Lacy and I immediately looked her up and found that she was going to be at an event I was planning to event called “Meet the Doulas”, as soon as I arrived (which was a bit early) I immediately approached Kristin and started chatting with her and explaining my history and why I was looking for a Monitrice, in that initial meeting I could tell that Kristin was very personable, friendly, and had this calmness about her – I knew she was the right person for the job. Throughout my pregnancy she drove all the way to my house a handful of times (an hour drive from her home) to get to know each other, to talk about techniques, to go over my birth plan, etc. We also made a visit to her home which was very close to the hospital I chose to use and offered for me to labor there as needed. The day my contractions started I was having some odd symptoms and she insisted on driving to my house to check on me – even though her home was closer to the hospital. However, since we weren’t sure where I was at in Labor she wanted to come and evaluate me. I was completely amazed that she offered to go out of her way to do this. We ultimately had my husband come home and we made the trek to the hospital mid-day. She stayed with us all day in our room until after our baby was born. I unfortunately had some sort of infection happening in my body and the doctor’s called for a section. Kristin was with me in recovery while the hubby was showing off the baby to family members. She has a special place in my heart and of course my family, I would highly recommend her to anyone considering her services, you won’t regret it.
Kristin is an amazing doula and birth support. I had a very complicated birthing situation, and Kristin was a backup for my doula. When my doula had another client in labor at the same time as I was, Kristin jumped to the ready and was at my side within a half hour. She was very soothing and relaxed, making the environment exactly what I needed in order to have the birth that I wanted. She knew exactly when to remain calm, and when to call for the nurses. If it hadn’t been for the medical complications involved in my birth I would have been perfectly happy to have had Kristin deliver my daughter. Given the situation, she picked the exact right moment to call in the doctors. My experience was made 1000x better by Kristin’s presence. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a doula or a midwife.

Our Doula experience with you Kristin was wonderful!! You picked us up where we were at and gently walked us through a really difficult time of our family life. Thank you so much.
For me personally you were the greatest coach that I could have wished for: sweet, warm, gentle voice, great hugs and the right touch. You listened between the lines and understood quickly that I needed more than just birthing help. Almost drowned in deep depression and anxiety I was so far removed from what was really going on with me and in my body and you helped me to become grounded again. You had the right people on hand(psychologist, group for females with depression around birth), the right tools and the willingness to walk with me and Steffen through this the whole way.
Never did you push your idea of a perfect birth situation on us but carried and lead us towards and through our own. I will never forget our wonderful walk through Maybury Park with good calming conversations, imaginary trips to peace and relaxation or our neighborhood on the day of our daughter’s birth. You helped me to find out when it was time to decide for the baby to be born and helped me to be open to all options in the hospital.
I know that some people may think you take a Doula because you want a noninvasive, medication free, all natural, maybe even home birth. But you showed us that you are there for what ever birth situation is imagined and possible.
How great to see that an epidural helped me to let go of my anxiety and let me give smoothly birth to a wonderful full moon night born beautiful daughter: Luna Amalie.
Words can not describe how thankful we are for your presence in our life!!
Love, Mirjam und Steffen Leopoldsberger

We cannot thank Kristin enough for helping us to prepare for a natural child birth. Kristin is an amazing doula and she helped me to face the fears that I had about giving birth. She has a very calming and warm way about her that really helped me to remain calm and in control during my labor and delivery. During my labor and delivery Kristin was able to concentrate on my physical needs while my husband was able to concentrate on my emotional needs. I am so happy we chose Kristin as our doula and we will be using her in the future with any other children we may be blessed with.

My experience with my home birth was surreal! I felt as if I were on television. My husband and I received excellent care.My midwives and doula’s were most professional. We were surrounded by skilled and talented individuals. They ensured my family that the birth of my son was of top priority. They were wonderful! They were so comforting during labor that I felt like family! I would highly recommend this team of experts! We loved them! We were most thankful to be in their care. J. & M. Witcher.
Kristin epitomizes service, heart and dedication. She is the ultimate professional and her vast experience contributes to her ability to support pregnant and parenting women and families with the utmost care. I highly recommend her!
Kristin was our doula. But she really was so much more! She gave me confidence throughout my pregnancy, labor, and birth. Kristin will always be a part of our family!
I have worked alongside Kristin for several years in my own work as a doula and assisting her at midwifery births. In my time with Kristin, I’ve witnessed many lovely, gentle births that likely would not have been possible without Kristin’s guidance and support.
Kristin is very passionate about birth and families. She is very detail-oriented and focused, yet compassionate and nurturing. As a birth worker myself, I wouldn’t hesitate to entrust the care of myself and my baby with her.
I met Kristen when I was just contemplating a doula for the hospital birth of my 3rd baby. After a couple of visits with her, I was not only convinced that I wanted her to be by my side during the birth, but I was also convinced that a home birth was the way to go. During my pregnancy, I experienced many stresses – some related to the birth like concern over blood sugar levels and some stresses related to my life in general. She was a such a comforting, confident presence and believed in my strength to cope and in God’s plan that it would all work out. She carried this presence throughout my pregnancy and into the homebirth.
My labor was relatively short, given it was my third baby, but it was still intense and at times uncertain. I had never delivered naturally before, let alone at home. Kristen’s voice will always be part of my memory of this awesome birth experience. She was always offering soft encouraging words and affirmations. She made me believe I could do it and it was all normal and good. My doctors were never that personal or patient.
Kristen’s personality is perfect for the work she has chosen. Kristen’s skill level was also test during my delivery as my baby had shoulder dystocia on the way out (meaning her shoulder was hung up on my pelvic bone). This was a threatening situation for the baby because if she was stuck too long without oxygen, there could have been any manner of bad outcomes. Although I knew this situation was possible because of my previous birth, I was never totally aware that it was happening again. Kristen and her partner dealt with potential crisis as though it were a minor setback, and alas, that was all it ended up being. They were able to dislodge the shoulder without me over getting a sense of emergency or panic (unlike my last hospital birth!). My baby girl had minor respiratory issues upon birth that were resolved via a baby sized oxygen mask. Again, no drama or panic. There was joy and celebration. Kristen and her team reflected all the accomplishment and and kudos of a job well done back to me, but I will always feel like I couldn’t have had the same awesome experience without them. I would recommend Kristen anyone having a baby .”
There were two people who meant the most to me during my labor, and that was my husband and Kristin! Kristin supplied so much support and guidance to my husband and I, that I could not have seen myself going through such a smooth labor without her there. Her experience and knowledge as a doula, along with her patience and calm demeanor helped to bring peace to the delivery room. She was a great advocate for me, because she was aware of how I wanted my delivery process to go and she helped the nurses and doctor to stick to it. Also with me being a new mom, she assisted me with my millions of questions regarding breast feeding, bathing, swaddling and much more! I thank God for placing such an amazing person in my life and I definitely will use her services again when we are ready to add on another addition to our family.
Kristin was the midwife that delivered my 4th child at home and it was an amazing experience. She was an advocate for me and allowed me to take control of my home birth in a way that I was most comfortable with while giving me all the support that I needed and providing me sound and rational advice. She gave me encouragement when I was feeling like my labor was taking too long and when I it getting me down. My 4th child was a VBAC that I really wanted to have at home and I had never had a natural birth before and didn’t know how to trust my body. I didn’t meet Kristin until my 37th week, so my birthing experience was really special. She uses herbal teas and other soothing herbal options from labor to healing. I loved the experience I had with Kristin so much that I have hired her as my midwife for my 5th child too! Thank you Kristin!”
